Singapore Education Pathways · Free family checklist
Choose subjects with a pathway in mind.
A conversation starter for students, parents and teachers — bring it to your next subject-choice discussion.
Start with interests and strengths
List subjects you enjoy, subjects you can sustain effort in, and courses you are curious about. Discuss workload and preparation with your teachers.
Check your school’s actual combinations
Availability, prerequisites and timetable restrictions matter. A planner cannot confirm what your school will offer you.
Open the official course requirements
Record the exact subject names, required grades, aggregate type, intake year and any interviews, tests or suitability conditions. A course title alone does not tell you which science is compulsory.
Count Combined Science once
Science (Chemistry, Biology) and Science (Physics, Chemistry) are each one subject result. Match both components, even when their order differs. Neither pair automatically opens more courses.
Separate the three checks
Check the aggregate, each minimum subject requirement, and any historical reference separately. A strong total cannot repair a required subject grade below the minimum. Past cut-offs are not offers.
Use the right admission year
The announced polytechnic framework changes from 2028. Keep 2028/2029 planning separate from historical O-Level comparisons, and recheck course-specific requirements when published.
Choose your next small step
Discuss your shortlist with a teacher, revisit it after your next results, or try your grades in the free preview. You do not need to buy a plan to use the preview.
